The starter pack is the perfect setup for a single section of wire balustrading where you have 1 metre high, 40mm or thicker hand rail, allowing you to creating 11 horizontal runs approximately 4 metres each.

This DIY kit is perfect for fixing 7x7 3.2mm stainless steel 316 wire rope to timber posts.

Suitable for wire rope runs less than 10 metres, between timber posts.

Simply fix the saddles to the posts with the self tapping screws. Thread the wire rope through the turnbuckle and the thimbles included. Swage/crimp the wire rope using the hand swaging tool. Tension wire rope with the turnbuckle.

Stainless Steel Grade AISI 316 7x7 3.2mm now available in 25M, 50M, 75M, 100M, 200M, 305M and 1000M reels. Marine Grade Stainless Steel AISI 316 has the highest corrosion protection, making this wire rope perfect for highly corrosive environments including beachfront properties with high salinity levels.

This wire rope is both quality tested for tensile strength (at least 6.24Kn) and stainless steel 316 chemical composition. Be assured you are purchasing a high quality, well made product

7x7 construction is more flexible and pliable compared with 1x19 and hence very popular for balustrading.

The parrot beak wire rope cutters included are perfect for cutting the 3.2mm wire rope. They cut cleanly with a precise one-hand shearing action that eliminates frayed ends.

The lightweight multi-function hand swager with inbuilt wire rope cutters is used to crimp the nickel plated copper swages. The tool can crimps 1mm, 2mm and 3mm (3.2mm) swage sizes, and shear wire rope cable up to 3.2mm thick.

1x19 wire is unsuitable for looping around thimbles. A more flexible wire, 7x7 (most common) must be used with this kit.

You can find different size reels of 7x7 3.2mm wire here. 7x7 3.2mm is a different wire construction (weave) to 1x19 3.2mm with the 7x7 having the flexibility to loop around the thimbles when the 1x19 wire cannot. 1x19 3.2mm cannot be used with this particular kit.
