Wire Balustrade Kit #BP61s – BlackLine PVD Swage Stud Timber Insert System (Timber)

The BlackLine PVD wire balustrade range in an incredibly popular option for creating a modern, slimline look. A staff favourite, this black PVD coated stainless wire balustrade kit is slimline, neat and aesthetically pleasing. It's designed to minimise the visual impact of your wire balustrade. It is quite easy to install , reducing the 'hidden' labour cost of some of the lower cost systems available.

DIY Install Instructions

1. Using a 13mm countersink bit, countersink the posts for your threaded timber inserts
2. Pre-drill your post holes for the threaded inserts using a 9.5mm drill bit.
3. Drive the threaded inserts into the posts with a 6mm hex drive bit
4. Insert the BlackLine wire rope into the swage stud terminal ends at each end of your run.
5. Crimp the swage terminals onto the wire. These fittings require the use of a 5T light duty hydraulic swaging tool (see notes below on the use of tools and hardened dies).

6. Thread the RHT and LHT swage stud terminals into the easy angles, and thread those onto the threaded timber inserts at the same time. As you do this, the wire will slowly tighten. It's important to thread both ends in at the same rate; don't thread one end in first or else you won't be able to thread the other end in. Thread with hands first and tension the swage stud terminals with a spanner multi tool or spanner.

Please note the use of hardened dies, heavy duty hydraulic swaging tools (including the 8T and 12T hydraulic tools) and other swaging procedures are not recommended as it will impact the finish of the final product and are not covered under standard product warranty.

DO NOT USE in saline/salt prone environments especially areas subjected to salt spray from the coast. Any use within this environment will corrode the finish which cannot be rectified and will void any warranty. If your project is subject to this kind of environment, please contact us for clarification and alternative options.

Avoid using harsh cleaners, chemicals and abrasives on and around the BlackLine wire and fittings. The blackened surface of the stainless steel may be stripped off, discoloured or degraded.

AVOID acid based cleaners such as oxalic acid (deck cleaner), vinegar or InnoShine B570 / InnoGel B450.

USE a mild, pH neutral cleaner, such as orange citrus or mild detergent with a non-abrasive cloth.
