This popular wire balustrade system is versatile and designed for fixing 4.0mm wire rope to timber posts or metal posts.
The jaw/jaw bottlescrew can be easily fixed to the saddles by removing a pin at one end.
Using flexible 7x7 or 7x19 wire, run the wire through the swage/ferrule and loop through a thimble, then back into the swage and simply crimp using a 600mm mechanical hand swaging tool a 5T light duty hydraulic swaging tool or a 8T hydraulic swaging tool.
For Metal Posts: With the rivet in the saddle recess, the thickness is approximately 1.1mm. So please add this amount to your post thickness when considering which rivet size. eg. For a post thickness of 2.5mm: 1.1mm + 2.5mm = 3.6mm minimum grip range (5-3 rivet or above).
1x19 wire is unsuitable for looping around thimbles. A more flexible wire, either 7x7 (most common) or 7x19 must be used.
Please Note: Images pictured are for 3.2mm wire and fittings however they depict the 4.0mm wire fittings reasonably accurately.
