Espaliex Trellis Easy Garden Kit #E34ST42 - 42mm Hub | Timber Wall | 3x4 Square | 900mm x 1350mm
Espaliex Wire Trellis Hubs are specifically designed for running trellis wire along walls and other vertical surfaces, to help your vines, creepers and trees to grow.
Secure your espalier / trellis wire with this discreet and easy to install Espaliex 42mm Hub Wire Trellis Kit. This kit can create a 3x4 square checker pattern for training your plants along 3 horizontal wires and 4 vertical wires.
Can support designs up to 900mm x 1350mm. You can choose your own spacing between each of the hubs to suit your design. Some plants work better with 300mm spacing, some 400mm, and others with closer to 600mm for square designs, but you can do even less. Talk to your local nursery for advice on how far to space wires for the plants you are after, and where to position your design on your wall.

Instructions:
- Mark fixing points on your wall for your hubs. Measure 300-600mm (according to your wire spacing on your own design) between each point. This is where the centre of your hubs will go and accordingly how far your wires will be spaced, so make sure your design and markings are right! Note: These hubs will only allow 90° angles.
- Unscrew the grub screw from the 42mm hub to reveal the hole for the self-tapping screw.
- Insert the self-tapping screws through the hub and screw the hubs into the wall at your desired points. If you are screwing into hardwood, pre-drill the holes. Make sure the holes for the wire are aligned to each other correctly. They should allow the wire to pass through straight on the same plane.
- Take your two outside hubs and measure the distance between their centres. Add 40mm to your measurement.
- Cut the wire to the calculated length with wire cutters.
- Insert the wire through the hubs. It may be easier to do the horizontal wires first as they can rest while you prepare the vertical wires.
- Starting with the outside hubs, insert the grub screw and hand-tighten to position the wires correctly. Leave about 20mm of wire on the outside for the end caps.
- When everything is positioned correctly, tighten the hubs with an allen key or hex driver bit, keeping the wire taught.
- Trim the ends of the wire if you need to and slip the end caps over the end of the wires to achieve a neat finish.
- Celebrate!
