Breakthrough decking screw 14G x 80mm most suited to wider boards (135-150mm) and heavier thickness boards (23-38mm), when strength needs to match aesthetics.
Although batten screws (14 gauge) are great for heavier timber boards for decks and boardwalks, the head diameter is often a deterrent. These screws blend batten screw strength, with easy installation with the increasing more common Torx drive (TX30) and a neat finish to match.
For hardwood boards, pre-drilling with a 14 Gauge CARBITOOL Pre-drilling and countersinking tool is recommended to ensure easier screw driving and a neat countersunk finish.
